White tuna or Bonito del Norte is a real delicacy for all palates. It is caught in the Cantabrian Sea one by one with a fishing rod between June and September and then prepared and packed by hand with top quality ingredients. It is perfect for salads, tapas and pintxos.
Mackerel is an oily fish, very abundant in the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean, with delicious white flesh. It also has a high omega-3 content and its consumption helps to reduce the risk of heart disease. Mackerel is very juicy, with a powerful flavour and is perfect with baked vegetables, pasta and even for use in pizzas or cakes. It is also perfect as an ingredient in Galician empanada.
Melva is fish typical of the coast of Andalusia, but unknown even in the rest of Spain. It belongs to the tuna family of the Scombridae, like tuna or mackerel, and is an elongated fish that does not exceed 50 cm. It is a source of omega 3 and vitamins A, B and D, and is highly recommended for pregnant women as it provides a large amount of nutrients for the baby's health. The frigate tuna has a very mild exquisite flavour and a more intense aroma than other tuna fish.
